20 THINGS EVERY GUY SHOULD OWN.
20 THINGS EVERY GUY SHOULD OWN.
What's up Gentlemen? I'm Emmanuel from Teaching Men Everything and welcome to a very special blog post.
Earlier this week, I was brainstorming a few ideas for a blog post and I came up with a very good topic "THINGS EVERY GUY SHOULD OWN BEFORE CALLING THEMSELVES MEN!"
Now, the things on this list are pretty basic items; so basic that if you at your current age, no matter what it is, do NOT own at least 60% of these items, I don't know how to put this, you are a certified BOY and are no longer welcome to the Teaching Men Everything's Certified Men Association (TMECMA). I'm just joking, but that is how basic these things are.
Having it at the back of your mind that these are in no particular order if that tickles your fancy, vamonos.
Numero uno. Bluetooth Speaker: At this point, this is an actual necessity. I am at a stage in my life where I cannot complete any house chore, workout routine or almost anything without music, and a good Bluetooth speaker helps me achieve that. It fills the room I'm in with melodious tunes to set the mood for no matter what I want to do. You don't even need to get a high priced speaker that is above your budget, a good speaker from a brand that you trust will go a long way.
2. Bluetooth Headset: If you are a calm person and wants to listen to your music by yourself, a good Bluetooth headset or earpiece, depending on your preference, is for you. Notice the fact that I keep using the word "BLUETOOTH", that is because the world is digitalizing quickly and is gradually getting rid of wired connectivity. They are not as good as wireless connectivity and also restrict movement to a particular distance. Find a wireless headset within your price range and evolve with the world.
3. Cord/Cordless Clippers: With the coronavirus and various other diseases in the world right now, it is not even advised to share sharp objects. You cannot even be serious and tell me that you have the money for a Bluetooth speaker but you still let your barber use the general clipper on your head when you go get a haircut, that is just unhealthy and stupid. Get your own clipper today whether it is cordless or it has a cord. It is a good investment and it gives peace of mind even when it cuts your skin while getting a haircut.
4. Power Bank: If you are like me and you are on your phone almost throughout the day, be it running your business, reading a TME blog post, or anything at all, there will be a time your battery will run down and you will not have access to electricity. To keep on reading your TME blog post without stress or worry, you need a power bank or an external battery pack. As the names imply, these things literarily save power in them ready to dissipate the moment you plug in your phone.
5. Manicure Kit: We are in the 21-century boys, taking care of your finger and toenails as a Man is not unheard of. Regardless of whether or not you have the courage to go to a nail salon to get them done, it is a MUST to own a manicure kit; this has your basic fingernail cutter, toenail cutter, file, etc. in a pocket-sized kit and is not even expensive at all.
6. Dopp kit: Still on the issue of clippers and other grooming products, a travel-sized dop kit is a necessity. These are the little bags you keep your clippers in when you are going for a haircut, or a small bag you keep your toothbrush, manicure kit, clipper and shaving equipment when you are going on a trip or just for a sleepover. They keep anything put inside safe, fresh and ready to use.
7. A Safe: Got any important documents or amount of money you don't want to lose or tamper with, DO NOT keep it under your bed, you need A Safe. This does not necessarily mean a metal box with a bunch of locks and scanners (although those are safer), it can be a leather briefcase with one or two locks. As far as they keep your valuables safe from intruders, you have a safe.
8. Weight Scale: If you've been on a diet or you just want to start watching your body weight, A Weight Scale is a good item to invest in. Checking your weight the moment you wakeup helps you to know if you have not been eating enough and are losing weight, or if you've added a couple of kgs and you need to cut down on some things.
9. Full-Length Mirror: I feel like I don't even have to say how important Mirrors are no matter your gender; but as important as mirrors are, there is one thing more important than a mirror. The only thing more important than a mirror is a full-length mirror. With a regular-sized mirror, you can only see how much your shirt fits you. But with a full-length mirror, you can see from your head to your feet, having an assessment of your outfit and even taking photos.
10. Wooden Clothe Hangers: Wooden hangers are the boss of ordinary hangers. Apart from just keeping your clothes straight, they also keep the already ironed lines on the clothes, release natural scents unto the clothes and puts respect on your name in the minds of everyone who sees them.
11. A Leather Wallet: A Neat Grown-up Leather Wallet. If your wallet t is not leather, it’s childish, get rid of it. Even if your wallet is leather, if it is a fat, tattered looking, disorganized wallet, get rid of it. People don't understand how much of a baller move a slim leather wallet with just an ID card and a debit card is. It is even better than a fat wallet filled with money and unimportant papers. Opt for a better wallet today.
12. Wristwatches: Every guy needs at least two good of wristwatches. One casual watch for casual outfits and one leather watch for formal occasions.
13. Belts: Just like wristwatches, every guy needs two good belts. One for casual outfits and the other for formal outfits. You can have as much as you want, but you only need two.
14. A Tailored Suit: This is the second most important item on this list. In this post, I gave the importance of a good suit, go check that out.
15. Shoe Trees: A shoe tree is a foot-like structure kept inside your shoe to retain its structure and prevent folds and dents when the shoes are not being used.
16. Sunglasses: If you are like me and your eyes are highly sensitive to light, you need shades. They not only protect your eyes from the sun, but they also add style and class to your outfit and because people can't see your eyes when you wear them, it gives a mysterious unpredictable aura.
17. Caps: If you are not a sunglasses guy, you'd be a cap guy. These two serve the same Sun protection purpose. But if you want to complement a casual outfit, or you are having a bad hair day, caps will come to your rescue.
18. Wall Art: If you have bare walls in your house, there is nothing better to fill it with that Wall Art. It doesn't matter if it is Family pictures or just Random art, aesthetically pleasing wall art covers bare walls and adds charisma to your house.
19. Chess Set: Now, if you have any game at all, that's fine, but just like the game, a full chessboard shows that you are a very calculative person, and you can find various ways to solve a problem.
20. Water bottle: This is the most important item on this list. It saves money if you carry around a bottle of water in your bag because you wouldn't need to spend money when you feel thirsty. That, coupled with the many benefits of water listed here, you see why it's the most important.
If you made it to the end, I really appreciate you, you are a real Man. Use this list to check yourself, find out what you don't have and get it!
That's it from me for now, see you next time.
