DO THESE NOW FOR A PRODUCTIVE DAY
Are you tired of being sloppy and lazy in the morning?, Have you been searching everywhere for the perfect morning routine? This is for you. 90% of how your day will go depends on your morning routine. A crappy/disoriented morning can lead to a crappy day. But not to worry TME’s got you covered with 9, yes, 9 things to imbibe in your mornings for a blissful day. If that tickles your fancy, vĂ¡monos.
1. Wake up at your BODY’s time: Lots of blogs and sites tell you when to wake up without putting into consideration that we are not all the same and not all things work for us all. While waking up around 5 am does have its perks, if your body is not at 100% you’d keep snoozing your alarm until you finally can’t take it and turn it off.
You want to know how many hours of sleep your body needs, follow these steps.
i. Do not do anything tedious during the day
ii. Take NO naps in the afternoon.
iii. Turn OFF all alarms, yes, you read that correctly, turn OFF all alarms.
iv. Target to sleep around 11pm-12am.
v. Immediately you wake up, check the time and calculate the no. of hours in between, you’d get the exact number of hours of sleep your body needs.
I tried this for four days consecutively and found that my body needs only 5 hours of sleep daily. Crazy, right? #MambaMentality.
2. Drink Water! : Now, why do we need to drink water immediately we wake up, you may ask. Well, all through the night, you did not have even a sip of water because you were asleep, your tongue is all dried up, your body is dehydrated as hell. Just two cups of water are all you need to kick-start your body and its internal machines. Plus, it also limits the power of your morning breaths as you are not ready to hop into the shower just yet.
3. DON’T turn on any screen! : Notice how there is an exclamation mark there, this is one of the most wicked things you could possibly do to your body. Whether it be you’re your TV, iPad, Laptops, Main phone, second phone, hell, even e-toilet paper. As long as it emits light to your eyes that are just opening, this sends your eyes to an early usage of glasses. (image of wobbly glasses) Apart from that, it is a big distraction and it tampers with your perfect morning routine. More so the fact that reading hate comments under your social media posts puts your fragile minds on the path of a negative mindset.
4. Observe Quiet time: Whether it’s praying, meditation, yoga, writing (not typing) down to-do lists, or even just sitting down and getting yourself mentally preparing for the day’s task, quiet time is a necessity that even billionaire minds need.
5. Speak positive affirmations to yourself: When you wake up, your mind is sensitive and is highly receptive, so looking in the mirror, smiling and just saying “Hey, you’ll crush it today” or “no matter what happens, you’ll be alright” WILL set you on the track of a positive mindset.
6. Move/Jog around: Right before your daily exercises, yes you MUST exercise, you need to get your cardio in to get your blood pumpin’. A 20-30 minutes’ walk or jog around your block will do just that. You can also listen to music to make it less boring (if it even is) and yes, go with a bottle of water.
7. You knew this one was coming at ya, Workout: whether or not you have a home gym, whether or not you do it daily, a good 45mins-1hour workout will boost your immune system, burn all those excess fat that I know NOBODY likes. I myself get in about 5-6 days of killer workouts every week. Later on, I’ll do a series of posts talking about various at-home killer workouts for specific parts of the body that require NO equipment, so stay tuned for that.
8. Shower: now, you are done with your workout, you are sore and satisfied, time to hit the shower, and don’t let the sweat dry on your body. A cold shower after a workout releases the tensed muscles and helps it expand. Plus, apart from keeping you fresh to start your day, it increases the body metabolism which speeds up the fat-burning process.
Finally,
9. Eat a protein-rich breakfast: it is often said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, now, I’m not saying it’s wrong, but I personally don’t believe it. I am not a breakfast guy and I eat my first meal around 2 pm, but eating a little protein-rich meal is something I now try to do and I actually have more strength when I do it than when I don’t. if you can’t get a balanced breakfast, opt for a protein-rich one. It fills more and fastens your metabolic rate. Whether it be a protein bar, beans, meat, eggs or any other form of protein source, your body will thank you.
On this note, I sign out. Always remember, "DON'T STRESS, FINESSE."
