Some days ago, someone send me a DM on Instagram. It read: “What are some quality items for men that make a statement when you see them?” If you don’t understand that question it basically means ‘What are some men style pieces that speak respect when they are seen?’ I told him the popular ones and promised to do my research and get back to him with others. When I did the research, it didn’t feel right to reply to him alone, so I decided to make it a whole blog post.

Real men don’t go about screaming their net worth in our ears, they let their quality pieces do it for them. So if you are like that my friend and you want to make your money speak for you, here are some “LUXURY ITEMS FOR MEN THAT ARE DEFINITELY WORTH THEIR PRICE TAGS”. If that sounds interesting, vamonos.
You are not a true member of the 302 Family if you don’t know I’m going to start with this:
1. A Suit: This is basically what I preach about on this blog. If you have watched any Lucifer episode, you can’t tell me the quality of Lucifer’s suits didn’t catch your eye throughout the entire 40+ minutes. I mean look at this.
You don’t necessarily need to own a Burberry suit before you know you are wearing a quality suit (but if you are that kind of baller, go for it). I will talk about how to spot a quality suit on another blog post, but let me leave with this; Investing in just one quality suit is singlehandedly one of the best decisions you can make in your life.
2. Custom Pieces: From custom suits and dress shirts to custom Jewelry, Cuff links, wallets, to practically anything. Custom pieces signify that it is only you in the whole world that owns that item and if that is not a boss move, I don’t know what is. They will obviously cost more than a model of a common item but when you feel it is the right time to make that move, it is a decision you will never ever regret.
3. A Watch: I've talked a lot about watches for you to expect that these must definitely find their place on this list. I’m not even going to spend time on this, I’m just going to leave you with a picture of how a Rolex upgraded a simple Black Tee and Jeans outfit Mark Wahlberg pulled off.
4. Shoes: It does not matter the amount of money you allocate to get a new pair of shoes; they are always worth it. When you get a high quality pairs of shoes no matter the price, you get what you paid for. They look beautiful, they elevate your style and most of all, they last long.
5. Leather Wallets: Many people may not think this is important because it not really seen, but for a second, just imagine you are on a date or in a business meeting in a restaurant and you want to pay the bill, then you whip out your wallet and it’s all torn and tattered, in that moment, your Tom Ford suit starts to look like it was borrowed and you just look like you need help. Now imagine that same scenario, but there, you whip out a good leather wallet; it may not seem much to you, but trust me, it did make a statement.
6. Professional Camera: Don't you just have a big grin on your face anytime you look at pictures from your childhood? That wouldn't have been possible if not for a camera. I get the fact that pictures nowadays are taken in our phones but those can't even match the memories captured by a professional camera that can literally last forever. No matter the price tag on the camera, be rest assured it will serve its purpose.
7. Your Signature Scent: Regardless of if it is from Smart Collection or high end like Creed Aventus, whatever you wear that makes you smell like money, feel confident and probably get compliments is worth the price.
8. Smile:
Whatever is wrong with your grills that make you feel too embarrassed to smile, you can change it. Whether it is a broken tooth, some missing teeth or even yellow teeth, you can get it fixed; and no matter the amount you spend to get a big smile that you are proud of, it is always worth it.
9. General Body Health:
If there is anything 2020 has taught us, it’s that no matter what we do, we should never neglect our health. No matter how expensive health care is, it is a necessity. Take those supplements, eat those fruits, go for check-ups, exercise, mind what goes into your mouth and your body. Do everything possible to ensure your physical, mental and emotional health are at 100%; nothing is more important.
As I said earlier, real men don’t just go around telling us how much they have in their bank accounts, they let their quality and probably luxurious items speak for them; but the truth is no matter how much you got that custom Tom Ford suit or Patek Philippe watch for, it doesn’t even matter if you rock a swatch. Nothing matters as long as you feel confident in what you have on you.
